A microcredit bank, composed in six weeks.
Reference architecture for launching a digital microcredit operation in a frontier market on the Klyqo Banking OS. Mambu as the core, Smile ID + Persona for KYC, mobile money for disbursement, thin-file alt-data for underwriting, BNA-style compliance reporting as a rail. Pick the providers, Klyqo orchestrates them, you operate the bank.
Microcredit. Where the unit economics decide whether the book survives.
Microcredit is a working-capital product for the informal and micro-business segment that traditional banks do not reach. The technology industrialises the cost of serving small tickets; underwriting and collections decide whether the book is profitable. In Angola alone, the public target is 75% financial inclusion by 2028 against a base of single-digit bank penetration in the informal economy.
Five layers + two rails. Klyqo composes them.
The non-negotiables: a modern core, KYC that covers the local document set, mobile money for disbursement and repayment, thin-file scoring, and compliance reporting wired to the central bank. Klyqo is the runtime that holds it all together with typed journeys, durable execution, and a marketplace of swappable providers.
periodic submissions, audit trail, KYC compliance under Lei 14/21
thin-file scoring, PAR30 monitoring, write-off discipline
Microcredit onboarding + origination, end to end.
One Klyqo journey, defined as typed code, run durably. The buyer experiences a single flow from sign-up to disbursement in under fifteen minutes; the bank sees the orchestrated trace, regulator-ready.
What you pick from the marketplace.
A microcredit bank in this configuration uses six marketplace providers. Some are live today, others in flight or scoped on request — the launch sequence picks the ones in flight and times the others to need.
Honest about the work.
This reference architecture is real. The runtime is shipping today (v0.1). The Mambu adapter is in flight with launch partners. The thin-file scoring partner and the Angolan mobile money adapter are the two specific recruits we are running against this blueprint right now. The path from contract to first journey running live for a microcredit pilot is four to six weeks once those two adapters are decided.
What you bring: the BNA licence, the capital, the launch market, the underwriting policy. What Klyqo brings: the runtime, the marketplace, the adapters, the journey templates, the audit log. What we figure out together: which providers, which alt-data sources, which journey variants for your specific operating model.
If you are an Angolan IFM, a microfinance lender in another African market, or a foundation considering capital deployment in inclusive finance: this blueprint is shipping toward your use case specifically. Talk to us before you scope the build yourself.
